West Coast Fly-In

Attention Triple-Tail owners; we only have three registered and the deadline is coming up. Don't let the other types show you up. Besides, I can't think of a better place to spend the weekend!

Hope to see many of you there,

Rob,
I'm doing a three week intensive as part of the Warrior-Scholar Project focusing on the Humanities.
Heading back west to Stanford for the summer semester, and then back east to attend Williams in the fall

It was a close call, but as of Sunday, '61R is ready to make the trip from Seattle to Columbia. We're all registered for the weekend, and now it looks like Friday's weather is likely to be less than ideal. The WX discussion includes phrases like "expected rainfall should significantly delay fire season". The storm timeline keeps moving up, so maybe we'll be able to make it Friday evening behind the storm...

Adam, a few comments… first of all knowing that you are about half the age of most of the rest of us Bellanca followers, I am encouraged to know that there will be leaders of your caliber in the generations to follow. In case I have not said it, THANK YOU for your service to our Country. I commend you on continuing to pursue your education as well. Now, that being said with all sincerity… it seems likely that you will be rich and famous someday. You will probably buy a Cirrus Vision Jet at some point in the future (you are always wanting to go faster as I recall). I just hope you will not forget your humble aviation roots with the wood and fabric gang!

2017 Columbia Fly-In was truly a great time - weather on Friday was marginal but Saturday was a beautiful day. We ended up with four triple-tails. Met quite a few first-timers and caught up with old friends. Thanks to Robert, Vic & Jim for another perfect event.

We're bummed we couldn't make it, but by the time we could have left Seattle on Friday, the weather in Oregon looked pretty sour and still hasn't started looking good. Low freezing levels, snow around Crater Lake, and poor visibility didn't seem like a good idea.

Hopefully Jess and I will make it next year.

We missed seeing you! Brian, let's make a pact that in 2018 there will be at least two -3s at the Fly-In. This year and last there were none - I flew a friends plane.

Just finishing up working out some bugs so I couldn't get 12e ready in time. I will definitely be there next year as a first timer and -3.
