San Francisco Bay Area Bellanca's

Good Morning to all the West Coast Pilots!
I am transitioning out of the military in March and will be moving to the San Francisco Bay Area with my Bellanca. A couple questions for anyone Bay Area or West Coast based:

Where are you Hangaring? I know that the Bay Area is RIDICULOUSLY expensive, but I was thinking about Hayward Executive - anyone have any tips?

Things I need to be aware of aviation wise? Tips and tricks? (where to buy fuel, oil, etc..)

Luckily I will now have access to MARS for all my Bellanca service questions and annuals which is fantastic!

Also, I will be in the Bay Area from today until December 23rd. I would love to meet up with anyone who is willing, just to see your bird, trade advice, and such. Blimpy, if you are available at all, I would enjoy talking to you about your ongoing brake rebuild. Thanks!

Where in the Bay Area are you going to settle? It's a long way from north bay to south bay and you don't want to be stuck on the 880 freeway if you can avoid it! To get away from the county run fields you should check out Frazier Lake Airpark - a neat place for old planes. --Rob

I'm in SoCal so I can't help you with a hangar but make plans to attend the clubs West-Coast Fly-In the weekend before Fathers Day.

I will be living in Hillsborough, so roughly halfway between San Francisco and Palo Alto.
I am looking into Hayward, looks like I should be able to get a Hangar within the year at around $350.
Frazier Lake looks like a blast! I will definitely be visiting!

I have already listed the Fly-In in my Calendar!

Blimpy, I know you are extremely busy trying to keep your airport alive!
Please update us here as you continue to plow through your brakes, I am really interested in your Grove Master Cylinder install.

Leadsledfan, there is another Cruisair owner living in Hillsborough. I dont recall his name, but a check of FAA records should show a Hillsborough address. He might be a good contact for local airport info. Grant.
