Does the club have a prepurchase checklist that will walk 'newbies' thru possible problems with Cruisemasters? :D

Good wood at the Butt spar.
Fresh Cover and paint.
McCauley prop.
Cleveland brakes.
Alternator system.
Fresh hydraulics.
Engine low time and not an excessive oil user.
Electric fuel pump (backup + wobble)
Remember you are buying an old Classic with min. support from the factory. There is no parts or service manuals for the 14-19 or 14-19-2 there is for the -3A so that helps some. LYNN N9818B
P.S. would I buy it again if I had to do it over? In a heartbeat! 8)

If you're looking at a 14-19, I'd add the Hartzell prop to the checklist. Make sure the 1997 prop AD was complied with, particularly the blade clamps.

Adding to Lynn's list, the most important thing is how much has it been flown in the past few years, especially in the last year or two. Hydraulic systems love water - this, even more than corrosion from lack of engine use will bite you....badly.

It took 30 months to get my 'Master into shape after the ferry flight home. Like Lynn, I'd do it again - those aircraft are THAT good :)

Yea right i'd do it again too,i had a fer nervous moments while re-building mine.Make absolutely hartzell prophas recent ad compliance. If the prop is bad a new one is 18,000$not much for used props around .this is a non flanged crankshaft it will only take this prop!Of course check wood in wings very carefully,if wings are bad the plane has almost no value. Some parts hard to find for lyc 0-435,but can be done with lots of looking.good luck
