OK- I finally take the fuselage envelope out of the box and, lo and behold, it's a COMPLETE :shock: envelope- not just the top and sides as I had assumed :!:
This means one of two things- either I have to strip the bottom fabric off the fuselage that took 6 band-aids and seven hours to do, or cut the envelope's bottom fabric off to just the top and sides I expected.

Question is- am I screwing up if I cut it :?: or should I bite the bullet and strip off my nice covering job underneath :?:

How far should the rib stitching extend down the fuselage anyway :?: The top was only stitched about halfway to the tail as was the bottom, and zero stitching down the sides :?

One more thing- where do I get a munchkin that's willing to crawl inside the fuselage and glue the envelope in place :?: I can see this being a real pain in the patootie :?

I think I'm being a little too "talky" because of the Poly-Brush fumes... :mrgreen:
 
You are going to have to cut the envolope anyway. It is to big for the frame. I glued mine down to the outside longeron on one side,after centering it on the fusaloge, Then wrapped all the way around and past that glue joint 3" and glued to the fabric. The only stiching is at the tail section. Everthing else is glued. Make sure your headlinner is in first before you install fabric. :lol: :lol: :lol:
 
DITTO on the headliner being installed! I put a complete interior in my Cruisemaster from the inside. I don't want to wish that job on anybody. After taking the old interior out it was obvious that Bellanca did the headliner before the fabric was put on. LYNN N9818B the crate. :roll:
 
Not to mention installing the tailwheel strut, and making sure the tail controls are all in place!
As to the headliner, I don't see how you were able to install the new headliner Lynn. Are you some kind of contorsionist? :D
 
Installing a new headliner is easy.Just staple it to the side (wood) trusses.Then flip over the upper side wall and staple. then do the same with the lower sidewall.
 
It was real easy for me except for around the baggage compartment. If I could do it over (shudder) I would leave the baggage compartment out until AFTER I installed the headliner. That would have been so EASY :lol:

Looks nice though, if I do say so myself 8)
