No Interest

I happened to notice that it has been ONE YEAR since the last post here. I'll ask Mr. Szego to delete this from the forum as there is no interest.

Dan, we have to remind you that you are about the only person that knows anything about the prewar Bellancas and most of us dont have anything to contribute but I think we all like to hear from you about planes that we will probably never see but they have to do with our planes history. Please dont give up. Grant.

Yet I'm unable to contribute in any kinds to this part of the forum, I do still find it very interesting to read as a person, who had participated and still participating in ground-up restoration of other aircrafts.
Please keep it running.

Slackl,
While my main interest is vintage Bellancas, I have a Yak 18 with an M-11FR engine that needs a spinner. Can you find me one?
Dan

Slackl,
I think Yakovlev delivered most of these airplanes with spinners; but the military and flying clubs found them difficult to maintain and they were removed.
Thanks for looking.
Dan

I've digged a bit into the question.

Up to 1949 original Yak-18 were fitted with ВИШ-327ЕН prop. Since early 1949 new prop named ВИШ-501Д-81 was fitted.
But the newer prop spinners were prone to cracking, sometimes detaching in flight and damaging prop - problem was finally solved only starting from year 1952, with more than 15 different modifications of spinner between those dates.

Due to that fact - in the clubs and schools spinner was dismantled just after new planes arrived and thrown away.

I need:
1. confirmation of prop model name you have
2. maybe a photo of attaching backplate if it is available

I've made a contact to several local restoration guys, maybe they have something in their treasure houses.

Still no chance getting a spinner.
Had a small talk with one of the local museums, that have such Yak on display.
They have agreed for me to come to get their spinner off and measured in all dimensions.
I'll be able to reproduce it as I do have needed skills and access to suitable machinery.

But - probably at least in October.
