Manufacturer's Data (I.D.?) Plate

Where is it? I've just had an FAA inspector out looking at my Cruisemaster (14-19). He asked to see the Manufacturer's I.D. plate to confirm my Bellanca is the same as the logs. I cannot find it and I can't find anyone who knows!

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks,
John

The data plate on my 14-13-3 is on the door frame, I am not sure where it is on the 19 series. I have a friend with one in the Dallas area I will call him in the a.m. and see where his is located.

I'm not too sure on a 14-19 also, mine is located on the left wall panel by the pilot's ankle or so....this is where my parts manual shows they should be located on a 14-13-2, but I've seen them everywhere....good luck.

My Cruisemaster 14-19-2 (1958) data plate is located just above eye level on the fuselage frame ahead of the pilots side window. It was made by Northern Aircraft, You can see a picture of this on ASO.COM Bruce Falls 1959 Cruisemaster for sale. Look at the last picture of the interior and right above the fuselage handhold you can make out the mounted plate. If you need more info let me know and I will help. LYNN N9818B

I went through a FAA "PACE" inspection several years ago (a no recriminations inspection) and we couldn't locate the data plate so the fed said I should just make my own or use a felt pen and put the model and serial number somewhere on the fuselage, which I did. 5 years later I noticed the real data plate near my left ankle under the panel. Good Luck!

I see I'm a bit late to the party here, John, but I just went through this data plate mess with my 14-19. The fellow at the latest incarnation of Bellanca has the serial number 'Master just before mine. Problem is that even he didn't know where it's supposed to be. His is apart for total restoration and the drawings don't show its location. He made me a new one, copied from his with the exception off the blue globe logo, and of course my data instead of his. It's too large to fit in the spot where the Downer 'Masters have theirs. In short, although I have one now, its proper, original location remains a mystery.

I'm about to relocate my 'Master to Kittie Hill in the next month from Arlington, WA. Guess I'll see you at the field :)

greetings!
the data plate on N522A (1951 14-19 #2075) is on the battery compartment door, upper left corner (facing the left side of the fuselage). it is riveted on and appears to be in compliance with the regs. i have not had a chance to ask bob seals about the position-whether he placed it there or that's just where it was when he got it. next time i talk to bob i'll try to remember to ask.
hope this helps!

Dang, Vic.....I think that was the ONE place we never looked. Long ago my battery was moved to the baggage compartment, as many folks did due to the original aluminium wiring used that suffered degraged conductivity over time.

I'll have to take a peek there - thanks :)
