Well, it looks like the East Coast will be socked in for a week, and I need to get to Oshkosh....

So, I bought airline tickets to Green Bay, arriving Saturday evening. Anyone driving or flying down to KOSH from there?

This is now the third event this year that for various reasons I could not bring Sparky to - is this the end of civilization as we know it???

I keep telling my wife , lets move to the Southwest. Lets get out of crap weather, the rust belt, and the 2nd most corrupt state in the union! :x venting again! :D :D The CRATE is gassed and loaded for another adventures in weather episode. Up the VFR corridor out on the lake to OSH. Lynn  She says sell the crate buy an RV and let's go. I guess it will be for sale in a number of years as this too will pass.

Presidential TFR issued for Windy City
President Obama is returning to his hometown, Chicago, Thursday and Friday and the FAA has issued a temporary flight restriction, which may require Oshkosh-bound pilots to alter their planned flights. The TFR will be in effect from 4 p.m. CDT on Thursday, July 23, through 9 p.m. Friday, July 24. The FAA recommends that all aircraft operators check NOTAMS frequently for possible changes to this TFR prior to operations within this region. Pilots are also advised to contact their local Flight Service Station at 1-800-WX-BRIEF for the latest information.

TFRS ISSUED FOR THUNDERBIRD PERFORMANCES IN MILWAUKEE
Oshkosh-Bound Pilots Take Note
Pilots who plan to fly to Oshkosh via the Lake Michigan shoreline past the Milwaukee area the weekend before AirVenture are being urged by the FAA to pay particular attention to temporary flight restrictions (TFR) that have been issued for next week, July 23-26. The United States Air Force Thunderbirds are performing at the Milwaukee Air & Water Show, scheduled to take place July 24-26, at the Lakefront. The Thunderbirds' air show box extends out over the lake and officials are cautioning Oshkosh-bound pilots to be aware of the TFRs
