Franklin Fuel pumps

I have a friend that needs to rebuild his fuel pump for his 150 Franklin. Can anyone offer some help. He tried to call Greg Lucas, but said his number was disconnected. Thanks!

I suspect that Susan Prall or Robert Stills can rebuild fuel pumps, but there is another option that is interesting to look at. Someone gave me this web site a few years ago and I just looked at it tonight(http://www.then-now.com) . Click on fuel pumps. It is a very interesting read.______Grant.

Thanks Grant and Gary.
Grant, I am not sure, but I think I once called them and stupid me, said it was used on a plane! He didn't want to talk to me after that!

Very interesting for a couple reasons...........I was able to call Greg about 3 weeks ago. He has been busy on helicopters. I have sent fuel pumps and wobble pumps to Tom Haniford for years. He knew these were for aircraft and didn't mind. He said he did lots of wobble pumps and I've yet to see one in an automobile. He has done them for both the Franklin and Ken Royce. I wouldn't rub "aircraft" in his face, however. As far as I'm concerned, Grant's link is good. Dan

Even if you have someone else rebuild your pump, the 3 or 4 pages of info that are on the web site are worth reading.____Grant

As a general rule, I don't mention the word "aircraft" when having work done in outside non-aircraft shops. Many don't care. Some actively seek the business. The only ones who won't have been harassed by the "gestapo" or a lawsuit. Be nice to the ones who will work with you. Though I've done my share of starters and generators in the past, I prefer to to have a local shop do them. The founder of the business used to do accessories for Alaska Airlines when they ran recip airliners. This shop has all the parts for the Ford and GM based units. The only thing they want me to do is the lockwiring and provide oil seals. Dan

AW yes another tractor from the airport. I use that for my electrical work. It is a tractor from the airport. Problem solved. The Spartan has flown and we are in HIGH COTTON!Go to You Tube type "Spartan "Lynn the crate :D

My friend sent his fuel pump to Then and Now Automotive and he was very pleased. All new parts for $85. Keeps a steady 5 psi, and he said it was easy to replace.
