Bent motor mount

So... I get the motor mount back from the powder coat guy and... it's BENT  . The left front rail is bent down a couple of degrees. The burning question- is it now just so much more junk?
If it'll help, I'll post some pictures.

I'd like to get one Mike.
Contact me at cruisair@hotmail.com and let's discuss it.

Does this mean my original is definitely now a piece of junk?

Are you sure the mount is bent? Are you sure the powder coaters did it? There is nothing involved in the coating process that would bend it-even dropping it. I'd take it to a hydraulic press and straighten it out in a minute or two.

Here's some pictures. RED ain't it!?!

There is someone in Georgia with jigs to fix them. I had them straighten my 14-19-2 and they used a 14-19-3 jig so I didn't get a yellow tag but just a repair order. I don't know what jigs they have, but can get their name if you wish.

Dave,
When I put my 'new' engine in about 10 years old I found my engine mount bent as well. I straighten it in a hydraulic press, no problems -it didn't crack and ended up dead straight.

The name of the outfit for engine mounts fixing is Kosola Inc. http://www.kosola.com/main.htm is their website. They are in Albany Georgia and engine mount straightening is one of their strengths.

You keep going Dave. Dan is just a terminal curmudgeon:( When you get done and get it flying you won't be sorry! It will just be that much better to have a plane that YOU restored! Not that many people who start projects like what you are doing are successful (I know, just look at my RV6).

For half the amount you mentioned, you should be able to purchase the materials needed to redo a Cruisair. This doesn't include avionics, instrumentation and engine.

Yessir the $14k would be for the engine overhaul, paint, new-ish avionics to replace the ancient Narco XPDR and the KX170B and a Tarver prop.
Still optimistic I'll be able to finish it once my wife goes back to work. :D
