I really like the HIO-360 Lyc installation. I'd like to make that mod to 392 eventually. Is that a Comanche cowl :?:

I don't know. To me it ruins the look of the airplane. Don't care for the looks of the modern panel either. Also I had those cut off control wheels in mine when I got it and took them out and put in original rounded wheels. Why anyone would cut them off if beyond me but I have seen it several times.

The brand X engine ruins it for me. I am ot a four cylinder Lycoming fan at all. I have seen too many with major problems, they try to tell me how bad my Franklin is and can't keep their Lycoming running.....Greg

It's all a pipe dream anyhow. I'm going to be just about as stock as it gets although a 165 Frankie would make 392 EXACTLY like it was delivered in 1947. They swapped the 165 out for a 150 before it was sold. Dunno why, but it's there in the log.

The nose thing is why I could never warm up to a -2...that and the fiberglass panel.

I agree, Greg, but when you see Ozzie's airplane - it's drop dead gorgeous - you'll find yourself making a special case with it. This one that's for sale doesn't make that grade.

Kevin, the wheel cutting thing was to see the instruments better I think, I saw a few ones like this too. Maybe also to give them the look of the later bigger ones that have that type of control as original installation.
I like the original ones like yours and mine.
