Just a bad experience, Randy (re: KR series) - not first hand at all. I liked the looks of it and figured it would fly like a JATO assisted pass from Brett Favre. When I went to have a look at one I arrived to discover that somebody else had already come, bought it, and...well...bought it. Killed himself on take-off. No messy business with refunds and such.
Wrecking newly acquired aircraft on the way home is common. A buddy at West Texas Airport sold his 'Keet to a fool who ground looped it when he got home. Another friend's beloved Travelair (the biplane) was wrecked during its first landing by its new owner. And so it goes. I retained no fear or ill opinion of these once splendid flying machines that were laid low by bad pilots. Yet there's something about a sudden death in a flying machine turned coffin amidst flaming, melting plastic that left me with a timid feeling.
The original owner/builder's wife had her's up for sale too (his and her's KR2s) but they had lost interest in selling another aircraft that day. I'm sure it's a fine and purposeful airplane in the proper hands.
