North,
My Cruisemaster is set up for light IFR. The guy I bought it from did so regularly. He had dual VORs, ILS, ADF, and Loran. He had already bought the inverted control wheels that got them out of the way of the panel view.
I wasn't comfortable with the panel layout so I had mine moved around a little. I have the airspeed upper left, then the AH, and the DG in the top row, with the turn co-ordinator and the VSI below. Not quite a standard T, but quite workable.
I removed the ADF and Loran and installed a used KLN 89B for an approach approved GPS. The 430 is much better but I just couldn't justify the cost in an airplane with the market value of a Bellanca.
I wouldn't have bothered with the GPS either, but that is the only approach available at my home airport. If you would like to see
some pictures, send me an email at cttully@austin.rr.com.
