Turbo impact to IO-540 TBO

I’m not an owner (yet) but I’m looking at a 17-31 ATC Super Viking Turbo. Any experience with the adverse impact turbos have on the TBO for the lycoming IO-540? What engine monitor do you have? What do you wish you had?
