Original Cruisair Drawings

Does anyone have info on where to get original Cruisair drawings? I especially need the wings. I see Alexandria supports the Cruisemaster, but didn't see the Cruisair on their list. Thanks!!

Good Luck! the Smithsonian has the prints, and I understand that they are very uncooperative in allowing copying. The club has some prints and various members have a few prints. I just ran across prints for the upper door latch and the sliding window, but they are in need of restoration. As a club, we need to gather what is available from various members and get them reproduced at a decent price for all of our members______Grant.

Thanks, Grant, I do remember I researched this before and that the originals had fallen into the hands of the Government. I had hoped that someone had blazed this trail before me. I'm sure that getting copies from the Smithsonian is extremely difficult purely from the standpoint of dealing with the bureaucracy. I can only imagine what red tape ensnares those drawings. It seems to me that I also found some other information in the library at WSU in Wichita, KS which sounded interesting, but never followed up on it.
Thanks again for responding and if the club members can rally together on this they may have more influence in getting copies from the Gov, especially when the FAA demands "acceptable data" and none is available concerning these older aircraft.

I obtained copies of the 14-19 from the Smithsonian. DON"T WASTE YOUR MONEY. The process was not worth the agrivation and if the govt can screw you it will! Like everything dealing with the govt it is best to avoid these Ass----s! Get Cy's # from the club as he is the best source hands down. Lynn the crate :x

Thank you, Lynn. BTW, gorgeous ride you got there. Saw the vid on YouTube.....can't wait to get mine up and running. I've got to do some minor repairs on my wings from a gear collapse and I just need some detail on the build up of the wings and particularly the rib structures in the aft wing root fairing/walkway area. I'd like to put it back original. As with so many of these older aircraft this one came into contact with some mechanics that weren't adept at wood and fabric.

A few months ago, I gave Cy Galley a print of the wing assembly for the 14-13 series. This is an assembly drawing from the factory.Much can be done with it, even if the individual parts aren't detailed.
I built a complete front seat for my CH using an assembly drawing.

Cy has been restoring the old drawings and we have quite a few available to Club members. Let me know what you need and I'll look them up. A long-term project to put the list online is, well, long-term. Hopefully late summer.

There should be two sets of 14-13 series prints in existance. One should be with the FAA the other set which may or may not be complete, with the NASM. The only 14-13 print I have ordered from the NASM was the engine installation print. It was about 50X40 and came in about three weeks. This print is a requirement to convert the 14-12F3 to a 150 Franklin.
Most of the original prints floating around, like mine, are shop copies.

I was just looking at an old article in the July 1989 Sport Aviation magazine , and there was a quote saying that Larry DAtillio had been able to get a complete set of Cruisair drawings from the NASM. Maybe in some dust covered box in the back of Bobs office there is a treasure trove waiting to be found? I seem to remember far more drawings listed in the old club sales info , than we have now. Maybe it is still locatable?_____Grant.
