Landing light lens for cruisemaster

Has anyone replaced their wing landing light cover recently? Suggestions on where to buy? Cee Bailey's has it for 100 bucks. Thanks!

Also, what goop do you use to seal the new lens in?
 
When I needed a lens, I ordered some Plexiglas from A/C Spruce and made one. It has to be a thermoplastic. I made a suitable leading-edge shape out of scrap aluminum. I think I taped the flat panel of Plexiglas to the shape, and put the whole thing in a preheated oven. The A/C Spruce catalog says 220-250 degrees. There is some shrinkage, during heating. It conformed nicely to the shape, and then I trimmed it to fit. Still there after ten years and over 400 hrs. It never occurred to me that they still made them. Interesting. Tom Robinson
 
I used 3M strip caulk window sealant on my lens in the restore 2008. It has never leaked or had any issues. A/C Spruce p/n 08578. Lynn the crate

I have what appears to be a Cruisemaster lens assembly on the left wing of my Cruisair and made a replacement lens for it about 15 years ago by a very similar process. The form is made with scrap heavy (5/8"?) plywood ends & bottom and aluminum roof flashing for the LE; the aluminum, and edges, have Wal Mart cheap green felt stretch water shrunk over them. I might have shown you the felt covered form I still have for the heating. It's not hard to do buy in my case I had to wait until my wife was gone for a good portion of the day so I could both use the oven at home AND have the smell gone before she returned. The timing only sorta worked out.
