Landing gear bolts

Yes I can't recall the specifics, but water can lodge in that area and cause unseen corrosion Although rare, the consequences are very expensive, so IMHO they should be inspected and replaced. When replacing, it is paramount that you buy the American Champion version; it is designed for this one purpose and AN bolts will fail.
 
I bought my Decathlon as a basket case due to the L gear collapse, but Don't know if it was the inner or the old style U bolt that actually failed.

Hopefully, no one still has the original thin U-Bolts. We have been pounding on the importance and consequences for many years now, documenting several failures.
