Hydraulic Power Pack

I have been working on restoring a 14-19-3 (N8810R) for the past couple years. Took much longer when I decided to recover the control surfaces. Just a couple things left before we can get it back in the air.

I had problems with the gear coming down (or locking down) and believe the problem was related to the hydraulic power pack - Electrol 750N. The engine hydraulic pump and all the gear hydraulics have been rebuilt. After taking it to a local shop near Minneapolis they can't seem to get it right.

Any suggestions on who will rebuild these and what the cost will be?

Thanks,
Bryan

Bee, your best option is to do it yourself. Get a Piper Aztec parts manual and it will show you the breakdown of the pack.
The pressure is different for a Bellanca but you will find that the 'o" rings are the problem. Lynn the crate

I rebuilt my own power pack for Cruisemaster 14-19-2. After replacing all seals, it still would not hold pressure. The problem was solved by replacing the steel balls, which serve as check valves. All seals and balls are available from McMaster Carr catalog. It helps to have hydraulic pressure tester rated at 2000 psi. Jan
