Fuel gage sender

Thanks, I looked for that today and I don't have them grounded there. I did find out where my open in the circuit is though. The shiled on the outside of the wire is what is used for the ground. Someone had cut the wire and spliced in a new one but only did the center wire and not the ground. I am still wondering why a ground wire is needed and why the tank is not grounded through the fuel lines.

My 14-13-2 has a couple of metal clamps on the fuel lines under the floorboards that are grounded to tubes. plus I have the shielding on the fuel guage lines that go to ground. Ken
