Engine Oil

I have been using Aeroshell 15-50 year 'round, and have decided to switch to 100 during the summer. I was wondering what people are using in their Franklins. Do you use the W100 Plus or just the W100? I know the Plus has the additive required by the Lyc AD for E series engines, but wonder if there is any advantage to using it in our engines. Any insights, comments or...? would be appreciated.
Thanks! Larry

I've heard that Multi weight Aero Shell is just fine if you fly weekly (from Cessna engine forums on O470 and big bore Continentals). However if you might go 2-3 weeks between flights single viscosity oils seem to cling better and chances of internal corrosion will be less. This is because the natural viscosity of a multi weight oil is at the low number. Engine heat causes it to thicken. I stuck with correct single viscosity oils on my last engine and it went 300 hours past TBO and 30 years. It could have easily gone longer if I had more guts. It will be interesting to hear other responses.

Greg Lucas told me several times not to use multiweight in the Franklins and that 100 plus is the thing to use.
