Cruisemaster Annual

Hello everyone.
I am French and I live in France. I just bought a Cruisemaster 14-19. Plane is still in US. I have also just registered for the Bellanca Champion Club.

I need to register the plane in France at the DGAC (the French FAA) file a maintenance program. I bought on the gift shop 4 books: Cruisemaster Plane Report, Operation manual, Flight Manual and Type Certificate. There is no or little in these manuals, maintenance data or Service Manual.

Does the Cruisair Operators & Service Manual have more maintenance data than the Cruisemaster Operations Manual? And above all, can we use it with a cruisemaster?

Does anyone have an example of an annual visit?

Thanks

Sebastien

Hello Sebastian... congratulations on your "new" airplane and welcome to the Bellanca family! Would you mind letting us know what the FAA registration numbers is - some of us might be aware of some history that would be of interest to you.

Unfortunately there is very little useful information in the factory manuals. You should also purchase the collection of newsletters that are also available from the Bellanca club - there are some good technical articles in these publications. A copy of the service bulletins is also informative.

As an older triple-tail Bellanca owner you will be faced with various maintenance and inspection challenges - nothing you cannot handle if you are reasonably knowledgeable about aircraft systems. The forum here is also a great resource and many of us will be glad to share experience with you. I suggest you practice searching on this forum for specific topics as there is quite a body of information right here in the forum. As for an annual inspection checklist there are a few worksheets that have been created over time specific to the Bellanca type - I'll take a look at what I have and likely some other forum members will be able to help as well. Is your plane complete and assembled, or is it more in a project condition? Tell us more about your situation and we can give you some suggestions on what to do. Good luck! --Rob

Hi Rob.

Thank you for your prompt response.

The registration number is N524A, S/N 2077. The aircraft was based in Tennessee. It must be shipped to Florida to be dismantled (remove two wings and half horizontal stab), containerized and oversea shipped to France. I hope next week.

So, plane is complete and assembled but will be to re-assembled in France.

There’s a maintenance checklist in the service letters package the club sells. I think it’s for the -3, but it would work well for the -2 if you ignore the parts about the nose gear. My annual checklist is basically that checklist, plus the ADs, plus the instructions for continued airworthiness for all the stuff added over the years.

But basically, AC43.13 is your maintenance manual in the US. Keeps life interesting :).

Thank you for your reply.

I just ordered 14-19-3 Service Manual and Cruisemaster Service letters Collection.

Seb, take care and lots of pictures when you take the plane apart. Be very vigilant with the electrical wiring. Cruisemasters come apart fairly easy. The wings are heavy and I recommend removing the wheels ,flaps and ailerons. Makes it easier to man handle and also you can protect the controls better. I once was involved in a court case with an ocean container. I worked for Xerox and we had shipped a check printer in a container that took on water in high seas. Wow what damage salt water can do in such a short time. So pack that plane with love. Lynn the crate
