I managed to drive out to Columbia today to drop off some camping gear, and I thought I'd update the group on the field conditions.
The grass runway is in great shape! Green grass and it looks pretty smooth. Definitely mowed recently. They are sprinkle watering, and cal fire has been dumping extra water to help out for fire practice.
There is a fire south of the field and the stoops are making constant water runs trying to put it out. Quite a sight seeing cal fire in action.
The camping area is lovely. Tons of shade, and they have recently mowed the camp sites. They have also added some fire pits which we can use.
100ll was 4.10 a gallon self serve today, which for california is cheap!
I hope to finally meet everyone on friday!
