Aux fuel and baggage compartment

I have come to the conclusion that a sooner rather than later project on my Crusair will be adding an auxiliary fuel tank and a baggage compartment.

From my search of the forums, it seems like you can install the 14 gallon aux fuel tank through the door without cutting fabric?

For the baggage compartment, is it as simple as cutting a hole, and gluing the fabric back inside the fuselage?

Any suggestions for shops that can do the fabric work / baggage compartment in northern california?

Thanks!

Yes, the under-seat aux fuel tank can be installed without cutting fabric (other than some interior fabric and the hole for the filler pipe). The baggage compartment is a bit more than just cutting a hole and sliding it in. If I remember correctly there is a metal brace that bolts inside the fuselage that you attach the compartment to. I think I have most (maybe all) of what you need, but I wont be at my ranch to look for a couple of days. I believe the club has a print of the tank installation. I am about a 40 minute flight north of you. I can get you in touch with a friend that installed a tank, but he says he is too old to be a pretzel anymore. ____Grant.

Thanks!
I am interested in any parts and advice you might have.
Also, I am more than willing to assist in the installation, as my younger bones pretzel a little more easily.
I frequently make flights to sun valley and other parts of idaho from San francisco, and I typically end up having to stop for fuel 30-45 minutes short of my destination. Also, we fly with our pooch fairly often, so piling baggage into the back seat doesn't work so well.
Thanks !

Adam, please give me a call later this evening if you can. I will do the spell numbers here to avoid spam seven07-two7nine-nine11nine. I hate doing it that way. I will talk to my friend and see if he is interested in supervising, or just plain giving advice. He is in Redding, I am near Lampson Field in Lake County.______Grant.

Grant, sorry I couldn't call you this evening, I am flying back to the Bay Area tomorrow, and should be able to give you a call soon.
Thanks!
