Aileron cable tension

Does anyone know the proper aileron cable tension? Thanks!

Hi Larry,

I have a note in my aircraft records, from a previous owner, that lists the aileron cable tension at 20 lbs. I have no way to verify this for sure. But, it is a starting point. BTW, I am about a week away from finishing my annual inspection on 13B.

Hi Larry,

Terry is now set up to do the Franklin cylinder overhauls. He has another 150 cylinder to do and he is also doing his own 165 cylinders. We worked out all of the kinks in the system on my cylinder. It turned out looking really good in the end. I'm sure he would like more business.

20 lbs tension is the proper aileron cable tension for all low-wing Bellancas. It is mentioned in the Super Viking maintenance manual and in drawings and other service info for Cruisair and early Cruisemaster.
