ADVENTURE VS. EXPLORER

I received my tailwheel checkout in a 7ECA. Obviously that plane doesn't come with flaps and I seemed to not have any problems without them. I have noticed that their seems to be more Explorers available then Adventures. Are flaps that great of an advantage on a Citabria? And if they are is it a hard transition to learn how to use them and feel comfortable with them?
Thanks, Scott.

Scott,

You have a topic here that will get you all kinds of opinions. I own a 7GCBC, but have flown a friends 7GCAA several times. The GCAA, remember this is my opinion, seems to sink a lot quicker at slow speeds, which it should without flaps. The flaps on the 7GCBC don't have the notable effect like the big flaps of a Cessna. They will get it off the ground and climbing a "little " sooner but not a lot. Consider what you plan to do with the plane, then try both and let that be the deciding factor. I think you will like the higher HP over the ECA.

Woodie, thank you so much for the reply. For a while there I didn't think anyone was going to respond! I fell in love with the Citabria after getting checked out in it and would definitely like to own one in the future, so I'm just trying to gather all the info I can from people who have more experiance on this subject like yourself. Hopefully when the time comes to purchase I will be able to make a educated decision.
Thanks again, and any other advice or knowledge that you think would be helpful to me I would greatly appreciate.
Happy Holidays, Scott
