7GCBC Explorer upgrade

Hello everybody,

I was hoping to get some feedback over the feasibility of upgrading a 7GCBC Explorer into a High Country Explorer to get the gross weight increased from 1800 to 1950 Lb.

Is there an existing conversion path and, if there is, what else does it take other than changing the engine to the 180 hp Lycoming O-360-C4P ? What other aircraft elements would need to be changed ?
Or rather there are structural differences that make the upgrade not an option ?

You need to read and understand the Type certificate A-759.
I am not an authority, but looking at the TCDS it looks like you need to install the engine per drawing 7-1581.
And if you don't have the ACA wings (7-1545) you will need to install them.
There may be more to it, the 7 series TCDS is very large. I would read it, understand what you can, then call ACA.

I will go through A-759 type certificate before discussing with ACA. Appreciate the suggestion.
