14-19 main gear question

On the main gear, is there only one O-ring or are there two? I am thinking there is only one, but it almost looks like there could be a second one towards the top. Also, does anyone have an idea about how much pressure it should take to raise the gear up into the strut? Both sides seem to take about the same amount of tension, it just seems like it doesn't take much. I was told that the Vikings also had a place to add air pressure as well, but I don't see anything like that on the 14-19. Thanks for the help.

Mmmmm, the gear is just like a motorcycle front fork. There is no air as it is not an oleo strut. Your POH shows one "O" ring and how to service the strut. Call Robert at the club as you need this POH!! The ring is an AN6227-25 ,38cents at AAS.the oil is 5606 or Dow 4. If you look at the front cover of the latest B-C Contact you will see my crate with the gear extended (no Wt). The retract cable compresses the scissor to fit the wheel into the well ,so don't try to make the strut look like an oleo because it isn't. Lynn the crate :)

Thanks Lynn. I do have the POH already. It just isn't as detailed as I would like it to be. I was thinking that the gear seems to work up and down a little easier than I would have thought it should. I replaced the O-ring and one leg had a busted spring that I replaced. I just didn't want to miss something else that I should have been doing.
