My starter on my Bellanca (300 hp Lycoming) won't extend out to catch the flywheel. It spins but doesn't jump forward. I figured I'd take it off and take it to the A&P at Knoxville. I got it off, no problem then called the local A&P.They say they don't work on them, only swap it for a rebuilt...

I have a very small tear (< 1/4") in the fabric of my bellanca Super Viking. Can anyone tell me how to repair it? Can I paint it with some dope or what?
