Gaggle to Columbia...or peeing into the wind

I must get some thrill out of tilting at windmills, but once again, I am wondering if anyone in the NW wants to gaggle down to Columbia for the flyin. I am going to start out from Creswell, OR (near Eugene) and stop at Ashland to pick up the Hendricksons. I would like to leave Ashland early...

For those of us electrically challanged

My ammeter was changed so that it worked as a load meter and just gave me gen output. Since I do some IFR in this plane, I wanted more info...and besides, I like toys, so I got a field approval to put in a Davtron Volt Amp Amp (not I am not stuttering) meter. It has a three position switch...

    Resorcinol Resin

I retired from a "glue" factory that made resorcinol resin. It was without a doubt our top of the line product...(most expensive too!) If you have doubts regarding it's strength, just look at lam beams used in construction! On the other hand, I am just amazed that Urea Formaldehyde resin was...

    Grounding during refueling

I may have already asked this question, but then my kids always said I have CRS. Where do you ground the plane when you refuel? I expected, and FOUND THAT I couldn't get any continuity when I connected an ohmmeter to the fuel tank and either the exhaust or the gear leg...naturally. The...

I want more electricity...and there's a mistake in the TC

There may be a mistake in the Cruisair TC (Aircraft Spec). Could it be that the FAA made a mistake!??? Next time you are under the cowl, take a look at your generator. If it is the 25 amp, it is the Delco 1101877. Then check the TC. It shows it to be the 1101887 25 amp. However, if you...

    Air speeds?

Does any one have any information on the actual Maneuvering speed, and gear speeds for the 14-13 series? I suppose the gear speeds may differ a little depending on the operating mechanism (manual, hydraulic, electric). Page 31 on the Bellanca Aircraft Corp. Aircraft Handbook does not have this...

    Sky Tek Starter

I put a new Skytec starter in my Cruisair and really like it...man, I am moving at 50 mph before the engine starts! I was little worried that it would go too fast for the impulse couplers but that doesn't seem to be a problem. Any one want to buy a Delco starter CHEAP? Larry

    Insurance

I have been wondering how others have fared with insurance. I am about to renew my policy with AVEMCO or AIG thru Facer, and was curious. How did you fare? Please say: 1. Company and/or broker; 2. Coverage 3. Service 4. Premium 5. Other comments. Thanks! Larry

    those...@%&*!! helicoils

Had an interesting (!) flight on April 30. Last night before the annual, so I took my Cruisair so it would be warm enough for a compression check that evening(as good as excuse as any). It started to miss on crosswind. Landed and found that the #6 lower plug was loose...of course it was the...
