    oil cooler repair/clean/ test

Anyone out there had a good experience with any company, other than "Pacific." I'll have one or two available that are suited to the "K" engine in the -2 Cruisemaster. Available at my cost. Dan

    No interest here?

Once again, there appears to be little or no interest in pre-war Bellanca history.

    14-19-2 oil cooler

If you are in need of the proper oil cooler for the O-470K in a -2 Cruisemaster, there is one on Ebay now. #264562016598. Price is Ok and it looks to be in OHC with tag. When mine blew two summers ago, I was grounded for a month trying to find a replacement.

    Basic Med

Robert, You cannot post to comment on your complaint about doctors refusing to deal with "basic med" Same thing about mechanics and CFIs. After years of having to maintain a first class medical, I went Basic med last year. The biggest problem was convincing my primary care doctor that she could...

    Leaking Duracell Batteries

Warning to all... I had some reception issues with my one year old Lightspeed headset recently. When I checked the batteries, I found both Duracell batteries had leaked crap all over the inside of the receptacle. They were dated 2022, so not old at all. I just changed the AA Duracells in a...

New spinner assemblies for the Bellanca/Aeromatic

I posted some info on the spinner project JeffW's original quest. The estimated costs are in [and are in line with my projections]. I'm going to need firm orders, including money, to get the ball rolling. Read what I wrote. If you have questions, call or email. This project will do or die about...

    Battery Charger Fires

For the second time this summer, I have heard on local news that a battery charger caused a fire that burned down the garage, home and neighbor's house. A longtime friend, A&P/IA, had a battery charger start to overheat and smoke in his shop a few years back. I think it would be a good idea to...

    Cruisemaster Aux tank problems

Because I haven't gone on any extended trips in the Cruisemaster in the last couple years, I haven't put any fuel in the aux tank...it remained empty. With fuel prices at relatively low point, I put in 10 gallons before a recent trip. About 10 minutes into the trip, my daughter, in the back...

    Cleaning fuel tanks

I switched over to the Aeronca Aviators forum and in an older topic where the topic was cleaning the debris out of the bottom of a fuel tank. It was suggested by one that the fuel should be drained as much as possible and suck the rest out with a shop vac. I sure hope none of us would ever do...

    Hangar fires

People have been burning up airplanes and hangars from the very beginning. Cigarettes, welding torches and nitrate dope were probably involved in many fires. For the third time in my 50 years in aviation, I have had a friend lose everything in such a fire. Every one of these disasters had it's...
